They provide visual evidence of tampering or removal and are commonly used on electricity, water, and gas meters, as well as on drums and valves.
How do meter seals prevent tampering?

The seal’s structural design ensures that internal components cannot be removed without damaging the seal itself. Once the internal components are inserted into the housing, they are secured by a plug. Removing the internal components requires destroying this plug. Since the plug is embedded in the housing and secured via ultrasonic welding, any attempt to remove it causes breakage, ensuring that tampering inevitably damages the seal.

Preventing successful tampering requires specific precautionary measures and security mechanisms. Sequential numbering is a fundamental anti-tamper method, ensuring each seal is unique. Information such as batch numbers, serial numbers, and barcodes provides traceability, making it easier for users to spot signs of tampering and report irregularities. While these markings could theoretically be imitated using sophisticated methods, maintaining precise records of the seal’s markings prevents the use of counterfeit replacements.

- Durable, Wear-Resistant Markings: Codes are applied using laser etching, ensuring they do not fade or blur due to rain or prolonged sun exposure, remaining clearly legible during long-term outdoor use.
